  • LIBRARY RULES:
  1. Library will remain open from 9.00 AM to 5 PM on all college working days.
  2. Before entering into the library, members have to deposit their belongings, other than note books in the property counter.
  3. A member will have to show the library/identity card at the main entrance before entering into the library.
  4. Before entering into the library, the gate register is to be signed legibly.
  5. Books borrowed by the library members may be recalled by the librarian at any time.
  6. Borrowers must satisfy themselves about the physical condition of the book before borrowing, otherwise they will be held responsible for any damage or mutilation noticed at the time of returning.
  7. Books will be issued to the students members for 15 days. An overdue charge of Re.1/ for each book per day shall be levied on a member, if a book is kept beyond the loan period.
  8. A member must produce his/her identity card & reader’s ticket at the time of borrowing.
  9. The membership card and the reader’s ticket are not transferable.
  10. No reference books, rare books & periodicals shall be issued to members.
  11. Silence should be strictly maintained in and around the library.
  12. Prior permission from the librarian and signing in the registers are required for using the following library facilities.
  13. Use the computer (internet) in the digital library chamber.
  14. Use of Laptop and I-pad in the library.

 

  1. Please drop any suggestion, complains in the reader’s suggestion box or contact the librarian.
  2. Mobile phone should be kept in silent mode in the library.

15.Decorum & discipline should be maintained in the library. Disciplinary   action will be taken against anyone who will be caught practicing unfair activities like spitting in and outside the library premises, use of tobacco products, writing on the walls and reading tables, creating disturbance inside the library etc.

  • E-Resources:

E-resources,  also referred to variously as Electronic Books, E-Books, Digital Books, Online books are electronic versions of printed books that can be viewed online via any PC connected to the Internet. Many e-books are also originally published and made available only in the electronic format. Following facilities are found in Golaghat Commerce College Library.

  • Registered Undergraduate students of Golaghat commerce collage.

  • Registered Tea Management Course students of Golaghat Commerce College.
  • Book Loan:

Only registered members are allowed to borrow books from the library. The following table provides borrowing privilege for various categories of members and collection.

  • Circulation section:

A circulation or lending department is one of the key departments of a library. The main student point is the circulation desk or loans desk, lying mean the entrance of a library. The circulation of books for more home use is a major student’s service provided by the library. All the users of the library visit this section for getting books on loan for home use at one of the other time. It provides lending services and facilities for return of loaned items.

  • Reference Section:

The Reference section of the library contains resources, such as Encyclopaedias, dictionaries, thesaurus, atlases, bibliographies and thesis, dissertation and project reports etc.

  • Book Bank:

Book Bank is a separate section in the library, where text books, reference books and other miscellaneous books are reserved for some special categories of users.

  • Digital library:

A digital library is a library in which collections are stored in digital formats and accessible by computers.

At Golaghat Commerce College, we aim to improve the online learning experience by curating and organising our e-learning resources. We have created an INFLIBNET facility to enable our users for similarity checking and enable our academic community to maintain academic integrity. By accessing the Golaghat Commerce College Library,Digital Library, students can discover a range of resources starting from online catalogues of library resources to full text collections of theses, journals,Magazine,Previous year question papers and many more digitised resources . Through our digital initiative, we intend to make learning more accessible, affordable, inspirational, and enjoyable.

  • Periodical Section:

The Library has adequate subject periodicals, journals, newspaper and magazines.

 

How to  Access the Library:

All information resources that are provided directly or indirectly by the library , regardless of technology format or methods of delivery should be readily, equally and equitably accessible to all Library users.

Library are major sources of information for society and they serve  as guardians of the public access to information.

For access Library students must follow the following lines –

·         First of all, kindly confirm whether the material; you need is available in the Golaghat Commerce College Library through  the library  OPAC and we can access form college website . You may then approach  the library  assistant on duty in the stack area to help you in locating the required material. If you are still not successful in locating the item, please feel free to approach the Librarian for  further assistance.

·         Most of electronic resource available in the Golaghat commerce college Library and user can access within the library resource center and outside the campus also.

·         If you lost the library card  then you must immediately contact the Librarian and report  the loss of borrower’s card and provide relevant information , Duplicate borrower’s card will be issued on payment of a nominal fee.

·         If  you lost the library book , you must immediately  contact the librarian and report the loss book . You will be required to replace the lost book with a new copy.
