Report on the Visit of Hon’ble Minister Smt. Ajanta Neog Golaghat, Assam | August 2026
Hon’ble Minister Smt. Ajanta Neog, who has served as Assam’s Finance and Women & Child Development Minister and represents the Golaghat constituency, visited Golaghat Commerce College (Autonomous), Golaghat on the occasion of the inauguration of the first floor of the Administrative Building.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome accorded to the Hon’ble Minister by the Principal, faculty members, staff, students, and distinguished guests. During the event, Smt. Neog formally inaugurated the newly constructed first floor of the Administrative Building, marking a significant step towards strengthening the college’s administrative infrastructure and enhancing the academic environment.
On the same occasion, the Nijut Moina and Nijut Babu schemes were also inaugurated for the eligible students of the college. These Government of Assam initiatives aim to support students by promoting higher education and providing financial assistance, thereby encouraging academic excellence and reducing barriers to education.
Addressing the gathering, Smt. Ajanta Neog emphasized the importance of quality education, student empowerment, and the role of educational institutions in nation-building. She appreciated the efforts of Golaghat Commerce College (Autonomous) in fostering academic excellence and encouraged students to make the best use of the opportunities provided through various government schemes.
