The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” tree plantation programme was organised by the 74 Assam Girls (I) Coy NCC, Golaghat Commerce College Girls Unit on 22nd August 2026 at 10:15 AM in the college premises.

The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students and the community about the importance of trees, environmental protection, and sustainable development. The programme also encouraged NCC cadets to contribute actively towards environmental conservation and to develop a sense of responsibility towards nature.

The programme was attended by the Principal Dr. Utpal Sarma, Vice-Principal Anamika Hazarika, Additional Superintendent of Police Manabendra Das (Additional SP), Associate NCC Officer Lt (Dr.) Meghali Saikia (ANO), and 41 NCC cadets. The dignitaries and NCC cadets participated enthusiastically in the tree plantation activity.

The cadets planted saplings and took part in the programme with great enthusiasm. The event highlighted the message that planting and caring for trees is a meaningful contribution towards a greener and healthier environment.

The programme concluded successfully with a renewed commitment among the NCC cadets to protect the environment and encourage others to participate in tree plantation and conservation activities.
