STUDENTS’ UNION

The college students’ union is a general body of all the students of the college and its membership is compulsory for every student of the college. Office bearers are elected annually.

HOSTEL FACILITIES

The college has hostel facilities for both boys and girls. In view of the limited number of seats available, the hostel seats are allotted strictly on the basis of merit. To avail hostel facilities, a student should apply for hostel seats in separate application forms to be collected from the college office. Apart from this, the boarders are to abide by the hostel rules strictly and any violation of these rules will lead to their expulsion from the college as well.

COLLEGE MAGAZINE AND WALL-MAGAZINE

The college under the aegis of the students’ union publishes a magazine JYOTISHMAN annually to explore the literary talents of the students. Apart from this each department of the college takes care to publish wall magazines.

GIRLS AND BOYS COMMONROOM

There are two separate common rooms for boys and girls. Newspaper, periodicals and indoor games facilities are provided in the common room.

AUDITORIUM

In order to inculcate sporting talents among the students, the college provides indoor as well as outdoor sport facilities for the students.

INDOOR STADIUM AND SPORTS COMPLEX

The college has an auditorium commemorating the memory of Prof. Rana Tamuly, erstwhile Vice-Principal of the college and a legendary comedian of Assamese films.

RED-RIBBON CLUB

With the purpose of offering humanitarian service to the society, the Golaghat Commerce College has formed a voluntary blood-donation group comprising of the students of this college. The Red-Ribbon Club of the college is a body that works towards the control and prevention of HIV/AIDS through the participation of the students. The scheme is implemented with the support of the STATE AIDS CONTROL SOCIETY using the services of the college N.S.S. unit.

GOLAGHAT COMMERCE COLLEGE CINE-THEATRICAL SOCIETY

Golaghat Commerce College Cine-Theatrical Society is a body that caters to the students’ need for developing their dramatic and cinematic interests.

YOGA CENTRE

The college has a permanent refreshment facility for student as well as teachers.

CANTEEN

In view of the present need for improving physical as well as mental health of the students, a yoga centre has recently been added to the college.

ENVIRONER

The college is very sensitive to the issue of worldwide environmental degradation and it sincerely believes that in order to address this serious issue the sensitization of the young generation is extremely important. With this primary aim in view the college has set up an environment awareness society with the nomenclature ‘‘ENViRONER’’.

MARTIAL ARTS FOR GIRLS

The college has started martial art for girls to train girl students in non-combat martial arts which is primarily proposed to avoid attack or disable the enemy. It will also strengthen ‘SHE Teams’ to prevent harassment of women, to deal with crime against women and become self-reliant for their safety.

CENTRE FOR PROMOTION OF TRADE AND COMMERCE BETWEEN SOUTH-EAST ASIA AND NORTH-EAST INDIA

The college has recently added a centre to promote trade and commerce activities between Southeast Asia and Northeast India.

RESEARCH JOURNAL

An international level research journal (RESEARCH PROMOTER) is published annually to cater to the research needs of the students as well as faculty members.

LABS

The college has laboratory facilities for the students particularly in the departments of Computer, Education and Geography.

FACILITY CENTRE

The college offers Photostat facilities at subsidised rates to students.

DIGITAL CLASSROOM

The college has digital as well as smart classrooms for the benefits of the students.
